In 2019, IBM launched the IBM Authorised SAM Provider (IASP) Program. This was created to address challenges faced by customers in managing their IBM licensing environment. Challenges included complex licensing terms, difficulty maintaining knowledge, skills, and technologies to ensure compliance, dealing with software license audits, and over and under deployment of licenses, among others.
KPMG are IBM’s global approved SAM Provider, returning significant value to our clients on the IASP program, leveraging over 20 years of IBM licensing knowledge and experience. Our services in the IASP program help you meet your commitments under your IBM licensing agreement, including regularly changing terms and conditions like the recently announced amendments to license verification and reporting.

Working as one team, we were able to leverage KPMG’s deep knowledge of IBM license/product offerings to get an accurate view of our license footprint. This led to a structured remediation plan to reduce licensing exposures and identify opportunities to deliver significant savings.
The IASP has added a lot of value for our organisation. KPMG has brought their licensing and tooling expertise to ensure we are guided appropriately to stay on top of our IBM licensing requirements. It is a trusted partnership and it has strengthened our relationship with IBM.
