KPMG SPARK Event
Let us show you that possibilities are endless when it comes to your career!
The National Campus Recruitment and Early Talent Team is excited to invite all secondary school and CEGEP students across Canada to our virtual SPARK Event highlighting KPMG career paths, networking opportunities and professional skill development to support students as they begin to think about their post-secondary journey.
Our 2024 event will take place on November 23rd, 2024, from 1-3pm EST and is open to any student between grades 9 to 12 or CEGEP (in Quebec). This virtual event will be held on the Pheedloop platform.
KPMG SPARK is a program designed to help students learn about the potential opportunities within KPMG in Canada as students are taking their first steps into their post-secondary education. This event will include:
- A leadership keynote speaker
- Networking opportunities to learn a day-in-the-life at KPMG
- Skills development workshop
- Panel discussion with our junior employees
Additionally, there will be fun prizes and giveaways for our attendees.
Important information will be shared about scholarship opportunities for attendees who are in grade 12 or in their last year of CEGEP (in Quebec)!

KPMG SPARK Scholarship
KPMG in Canada is proud to present the KPMG SPARK Scholarship, available to 10 high school students across Canada.

To be eligible for the KPMG SPARK Scholarship, the student must:
- Be in their final year of high school (outside of Quebec) or CEGEP (in Quebec)
- Have a minimum overall grade average of 65% in their most recently completed school year
- Have applied to an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada
- Post-secondary institutions in Canada: Canadian education institutions which have recognized provincial degree/diploma-granting powers, or their affiliates (e.g., vocational school, colleges, universities)
- Must be enrolled in a full-time program at the time of tuition fund transfers. The program applied to must be minimum one-year duration (university preparation programs in any jurisdiction are not eligible). You must be in a business or STEM program
- Be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
- Attending the SPARK event held on November 23rd, 2024 is an asset.
When the recipient is selected by KPMG, they must provide their enrollment confirmation (scholarship is conditional of this). After KPMG receives the enrollment confirmation, the funds will be sent directly to the Canadian post-secondary institution.
To be considered for the KPMG SPARK Scholarship, the student must submit the following by May 4, 2025:
- Their latest transcript or report card
- Confirmation of application to an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada for a full-time program
- Either a video with a maximum duration of four (4) minutes OR a maximum of a one (1) page document (font 12, no double space) addressing the following prompt:
At KPMG in Canada, “do work that matters” means contributing meaningfully to our clients, people, and the communities we serve in ways both big and small. Not only do we participate in purposeful and impactful work every day, but the people at KPMG are encouraged to give to causes they are passionate about in their communities. Please provide two examples of how you have done “work that matters” throughout your high school journey (CEGEP for Quebec). I.e., In your community, school, employment positions, etc.
Challenging the status quo: Selected scholarship recipients will be students whose careers and lives reflect their vision, determination, and ability to create impactful and meaningful change for those around them, including making continual improvements in their communities through meaningful work.
Action: Selected scholarship recipients are known for acting on opportunities and for actively creating opportunities for themselves. Scholarship recipients set examples for others and are catalysts for positive and meaningful change.
Impact: Selected scholarship recipients are passionate about making a meaningful difference in their communities. They understand that their actions affect those around them and choose to act in ways that provide tangible and long-lasting change.
High school collaborations
Junior Achievement
KPMG in Canada is proud to team up with Junior Achievement to help empower youth while they navigate the early stages of their career and make their mark in their communities.
Through our teamwork with Junior Achievement, KPMG in Canada is a National Supporting Collaborator of World of Choices (WOC) Program with a goal of impacting 5,000 to 7,500 12–17-year-old students annually. World of Choices provides grade 8-12 students with an opportunity to hear from individuals who have achieved success in a variety of sectors including professional services. These events will inspire young people and help them understand the limitless opportunities available to them as they pursue their educational and career goals.
YELL Canada
YELL Canada is Canada’s first high school entrepreneurship course eligible for university credit. It provides youth with the practical tools and experience they need to succeed in the real working world.
KPMG in Canada employees are involved in the YELL Venture Challenge as mentors and judges, attend classroom speaking engagements across the country, and lead office tours for secondary school students interested in learning more about life at our firm.
ICON Talent Partners
ICON Talent Partners is a not-for-profit talent development organization dedicated to educating, training, and mentoring top diverse talent for high-impact sectors, where they are often under-represented. KPMG collaborates with ICON on our Black high school internship program, which provides each individual with a scholarship and paid internship at KPMG.
ABEEL Foundation
ABEEL is a not-for-profit that enables youths to share their vision for a world that is more inclusive of the Black experience, ultimately helping in building a better, safer, and more inclusive world. KPMG in Canada collaborates with ABEEL for our Black high school internship program, which provides each individual with a scholarship and paid internship at KPMG.
KPMG Black High School Student Scholarship and Internship Program
In collaboration with ICON Talent Partners and ABEEL Foundation, KPMG has provided over 30 Black high school students with a post-secondary scholarship each and a six-week summer internship in a service line aligned to their career interest when possible. Additionally, all students are guaranteed an interview for any future post-secondary internship they apply for at KPMG in Canada.
The purpose of this program is to provide a platform for the advancement of Black secondary school students nationwide and empower them in realizing their full potential through exposure to opportunities at KPMG that align with their aspirations. KPMG is invested in positively impacting the professional growth of Black youth through opportunities at KPMG, and we know that their diverse perspectives and contributions benefit the Firm and drive our business forward.
