KPMG Ace the Case 2026 will provide students across Canada the opportunity to work with their peers to develop a solution to a business problem and to share it with KPMG leadership!

As a participant, you will ignite your passion to create solutions to real-world problems, collaborate with students from across the country, develop your business skills and grow your network within KPMG in Canada.

The case competition for undergraduate STEM students, business students, or students looking to achieve their CPA designation will offer a taste of what it’s like to work at KPMG and provide an opportunity to participate in a spotlight session showcasing the CPA support provided by our firm. By working in teams with peers in your region, you will collaborate to solve a real-world business problem and complete a case study through a business, digital, and CPA lens, where you’ll receive valuable feedback from industry professionals. KPMG’s Ace the Case is ideal for students who are interested in building a career in audit, tax or advisory at KPMG.

Winners of the local competition will be invited to our national competition where teams will present their case to a panel of KPMG leaders in Toronto.

Students are invited to apply individually, and if selected, will be grouped into teams. Teams will meet the following criteria:

  • Four to six students per team
  • Teams will be composed of more than one gender identity
  • Mix of accounting and other (general business/STEM) students on each team

Prizes for winning teams may include KPMG swag, scholarships, a trip to Toronto, and a guaranteed interview for an open KPMG role in a future recruitment cycle!

Participant eligibility

In order to be eligible for participation in KPMG Ace the Case 2026, you must be currently:

  • Enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • Not employed at KPMG (no current or future-dated offer)
  • Planning to pursue a career at KPMG
  • In your first to third year of an undergraduate business or STEM program

Interested students may apply as an individual and will submit:

  • Resume
  • Latest transcript (not required for first years)

Please note there is no cover letter requirement

Frequently asked questions

If you are a successful applicant for Ace the Case 2026, you will be invited to a selection event and/or local competition where you will be put in teams of 4 to 6 to present your business case to a panel of judges in your area. We are excited to offer both virtual and in-person local competitions, tailored to different office locations.

When submitting your application, please consider your future office location preference when making your selection.

The winning teams from each local competition will receive an all expenses paid trip to Toronto to compete in our Canadian national finals, where they’ll present their solution to a panel of KPMG leaders and compete for a $2,000 scholarship (to be awarded per team member).

You will be notified within two weeks of the application deadline by your local campus recruiting team on the success of your application and next steps.

Once your individual application has been reviewed and selected, you will be placed into a team of 4 to 6 students from various backgrounds, schools, and years to ensure there is a mix of participants who can bring unique insights to the case competition.
