Qualified Opportunity Zones at a Crossroads: What’s Next for QOZs?

Webcast

Webcast overview

In 2017, the US enacted the Qualified Opportunity Zone (QOZ) program, a novel tax incentive for investment of capital gains into distressed areas. The QOZ program was designed as a ten-year program. Seven and a half years later, on Tuesday July 1 the US enacted the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including significant new QOZ provisions. At this stage there are several open questions about the original program, the new program, and related transition issues.

During this webcast, professionals from the KPMG QOZ leadership team explore the following items, among others:

  • What did the new bill give/not give us
  • Impact of original zone expiration in 2028
  • Integrating the new and old programs into your investment strategy
