Industries

Helping clients meet their business challenges begins with an in-depth understanding of the industries in which they work. That’s why KPMG LLP established its industry-driven structure. In fact, KPMG LLP was the first of the Big Four firms to organize itself along the same industry lines as clients.

The Future of SOX: Leveraging artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies for enhanced audit quality and client experiences

CPE 1.5

A KPMG Future of SOX webcast

Webcast

Webcast overview

In this Future of SOX webcast, we will explore the type of technologies that external auditors are using when executing their audit procedures.

During previous webcasts, the topic of increased technology and automation by external auditors was discussed, highlighting its impact on the design and execution of first and second line controls, as well as management's control testing procedures.

In our upcoming webcast, Thomas Mackenzie, KPMG’s Chief Technology Officer for our external audit practice will describe the strategy for the development and inclusion of automation and technology in external audits in order to drive more efficient audit quality and client experiences.

David Fisher, Associate Director in our audit technology group, will then show specific examples of how we are using generative artificial intelligence and other enabling technologies (e.g., RPA, transaction scoring) in audits today.

Sue King will moderate the discussion, providing perspective on the implications of the advances in technology on the design and execution of controls programs by Audit firms.

Specific topics of discussion include:

  1. Establishing a baseline understanding of how auditors are using generative artificial intelligence and other enabling technologies (e.g., RPA, transaction scoring) in audits today
  2. Demonstrating real applications of generative artificial intelligence and other enabling technologies used in audits today
  3. Discussing the future of enabling technologies in audits
  4. Exploring how leading companies are preparing their auditors in the use of advanced technologies.
