Thomas Mackenzie, KPMG US Audit Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for leading the Audit practice through its next phase of digital transformation, including a focus on artificial intelligence supported by the firms alliances with Microsoft and Mindbridge. These investments in AI and other technologies drive audit quality, produce greater insights, and support an exceptional client experience. As we fully integrate AI into our smart audit platform, KPMG Clara, our people will be able to more effectively unlock real-time, data-driven insights and meet our clients where they are in their technology journey. Over time, we believe AI will fundamentally transform the audit.
In nearly 25 years at KPMG, Thomas has served in a variety of roles, including as head of the KPMG Global Solutions Group – Audit, focusing on technology enablement and increasing the use of data and automation. The KGSG leads the solution design, development and deployment of audit initiatives that enable consistent audit execution through the delivery of standardized and innovative audit approaches and methodologies.
Thomas joined the US Firm in 2009 coming from South Africa where he was an audit partner working in the Information, Communication and Entertainment sector. Over the course of his career, Thomas has completed several rotations including the South African Department of Professional Practice and US Digital Nexus.
