The Victoria Budget 2025–2026, which was delivered on May 20, 2025, includes the previously announced 12-month extension (for contracts signed before October 21, 2026) of the temporary stamp duty concession for eligible “off-the-plan” apartments, townhouses, and units. Read TaxNewsFlash

The budget also reiterates the state government's long-term commitment to abolishing stamp duty on commercial and industrial property.

While no new revenue measures were announced in the budget, it was announced that the fire services property levy (FSPL) will be replaced with the new emergency services and volunteers fund (ESVF) effective July 1, 2025.
