U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-ID) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR), along with U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch (R-ID) and Ranking Member Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), yesterday introduced legislation providing relief from double taxation of cross-border investment between the United States and Taiwan.

As indicated in a Finance Committee release and a similar Foreign Relations Committee release, the legislation is a companion bill to H.R. 33, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 423-1 on January 15, 2025. Read TaxNewsFlash
