The House Ways and Means Committee held a hearing on making the TCJA tax cuts permanent.
The House Ways and Means Committee today held a hearing on making the TCJA tax cuts permanent.
In his opening statement to the hearing, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) remarked:
“Before us is the opportunity to permanently remove the uncertainty and anxiety that dampen business expansion, job creation, and economic growth. Making the 2017 tax cuts permanent is key to unlocking a second economic boom in a second Trump presidency.”
House Ways and Means Ranking Democrat Richard E. Neal (D-MA) also delivered an opening statement at the hearing, in which he stated:
“[O]ur colleagues are charging ahead on the only policy that ever graduates from a concept of a plan to action: cutting taxes for big corporations and billionaires on the backs of programs people rely on.”
