Harold Kim Appointed KPMG Principal-in-Charge for Office of Government Affairs and Public Policy

October 2, 2025 (New York) -- Harold Kim has been appointed as the new Principal-in-Charge, Office of Government Affairs and Public Policy at KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm. In this role, Kim will execute the firm’s strategic corporate, regulatory and government affairs plan, drive stakeholder engagement, oversee policy intelligence and analysis and manage political risk and compliance.
“Harold brings a wealth of experience at the intersection of government, business and public policy that will be invaluable to KPMG as we navigate an evolving regulatory environment,” said Matt Miner, KPMG General Counsel and Vice Chair of Legal, Risk Management & Compliance (LRMC). “His proven ability to build trusted relationships and deliver results across the public and private sectors makes him exceptionally qualified to represent the firm in all matters of public policy while mitigating potential political and regulatory risks.”
Before joining KPMG, Kim served in a variety of roles at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, including Chief Legal Officer, Acting General Counsel and President of the organization’s Institute for Legal Reform. He previously served as a Special Assistant to the President of the United States within the Office of Legislative Affairs, acting as the President’s liaison to the U.S. Senate on legislative and other matters involving national security, judiciary, civil justice reform, intellectual property and Congressional oversight.
“This role is about making a meaningful impact through engagement with government and regulatory leaders, and I’m excited to bring my experience to that work to ensure the KPMG perspective is heard in the policy arena,” said Kim.
