An exclusive KPMG survey shows how technology, media, and telecom leaders are approaching this transformative technology.
To understand their perspectives on generative artificial intelligence (AI), KPMG conducted two surveys of US executives across industries: the first in March, 2023 and a follow-up in June, 2023. The survey report sheds light on emerging trends in the use of generative AI in business, including both the opportunities and threats these executives believe generative AI has created.
In this report, Technology, media and telecom (TMT) lead the charge on generative AI, we look specifically at this dynamic sector and how prepared TMT executives and their companies are for generative AI compared to other industries. We see, for example, that TMT executives are ahead of the crowd, with 60 percent strongly agreeing that companies that leverage generative AI will have a competitive advantage over their peers, versus 48 percent of all executives. It includes insights on potential use cases, identifying four main areas TMT leaders are most likely to apply generative AI, with the majority anticipating implementation in those areas within the next year. The report then identifies five key actions you can take to help jumpstart your TMT generative AI agenda.
