United States agrees to trade deal with Jordan
Jordan will continue providing duty-free market access for almost all exported U.S. goods and will eliminate non-tariff trade barriers.
The White House today issued a release announcing a trade agreement between the United States and Jordan.
Under terms of the U.S.-Jordan Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, Jordan will continue providing duty-free market access for almost all exported U.S. goods and will eliminate non-tariff trade barriers, particularly for agricultural products and motor vehicles. Jordan also committed to enhancing trade relations by enforcing environmental laws, protecting labor rights—including prohibiting imports of goods produced by forced labor—strengthening intellectual property protections, ensuring fair trade practices, and improving customs procedures.
The United States and Jordan also committed to take complementary actions to address non-market policies of third countries and to cooperate on investment security, export controls, and duty evasion.
