Switzerland: Model 1 FATCA IGA transition delayed again until 2029

Transition to a Model FATCA IGA with the United States has been postponed again by one year

The State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF) of Switzerland on June 29, 2026, updated its Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) agreement webpage to indicate that the reciprocal Model 1 FATCA Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Switzerland and the United States is now expected to enter into force no earlier than January 1, 2029.
