Netherlands: Clarification of comparability for tax purposes of four foreign legal entities with Dutch legal entities

Treatment of Bangladeshi, Bermuda, Pakistani, and Bulgarian legal entities clarified

july 2, 2026

The Dutch tax administration in June 2026 clarified that a Bangladeshi company limited by shares, a Bermuda company limited by shares, a Pakistani company limited by shares, and a Bulgarian sole-owner joint-stock company are all comparable for tax purposes to a Dutch public limited company (NV) or private limited company (BV).

Accordingly, these entities will be treated as comparable to those entities for corporate income tax, income tax, and withholding tax purposes.
