The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) has issued a request for comments regarding the development of a new government-to-government mechanism—a U.S.-China Board of Trade—intended to manage bilateral trade between the United States and China on an ongoing basis.
USTR is specifically seeking feedback on which Chinese and U.S. products should be deemed non-sensitive, the potential economic impacts of these tariff modifications on U.S. workers and producers, and the operational design of the Board of Trade, including meeting frequency and data-sharing protocols. Written comments must be submitted by July 10, 2026, and rebuttal comments by July 27, 2026.
