Cayman Islands: Industry advisory on CRS filing deadline, portal closure, and transition to XML schema v3.0
Deadline for the submission of CRS XML files and/or CRS filing declarations for the 2025 reporting period is July 31, 2026
The Department for International Tax Cooperation (DITC) on June 17, 2026, issued an industry advisory reminding reporting financial institutions of the upcoming July 31, 2026, deadline for the submission of CRS XML files and/or CRS filing declarations for the 2025 reporting period.
The DITC is in the process of transitioning to the OECD CRS XML schema v3.0. As a result, the DITC portal is scheduled to remain closed for submission of CRS XML files and/or CRS filing declarations from early August 2026 to early 2027. During this period, while other portal functionalities will remain operational, the submission of new CRS XML files or amendments to previously submitted files will not be permitted.
The DITC has clarified that the closure of the portal beginning in early August does not constitute an extension to the July 31, 2026, reporting deadline.
