Saint Kitts and Nevis: Reduced gasoline excise tax and extended exemptions for alternative energy equipment
Tax measures to ease cost of living and promote energy transition.
The government of Saint Kitts and Nevis on April 14, 2026, announced tax measures to ease cost-of-living pressures and promote energy transition.
The announced measures include:
- Reducing the excise tax on gasoline by 50%, to apply from April 20, 2026
- Lowering the customs service charge on gasoline until July 31, 2026, to mitigate fuel-related cost increases
- Extending full exemptions from VAT, customs service charges, and import duties for alternative energy equipment, including solar systems, until December 31, 2026
