U.S. CBP launches IEEPA duty refund tool
New tool consolidates refunds of duties and interest paid under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today launched the first phase of the Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries (CAPE) tool, which is now available in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) secure data portal for importers and authorized customs brokers.
The CAPE tool is designed to consolidate refunds of duties and interest paid under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), moving away from an entry-by-entry refund process. This initial phase is limited to certain unliquidated entries and entries that are within 80 days of their liquidation date.
