Legislative update: Senate passes clean FY 2026 budget resolution
Budget resolution does not include tax.
The U.S. Senate late last night passed the fiscal year (FY) 2026 budget resolution.
The Senate Resolution would provide $70 billion to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection, but nothing else. The budget resolution does not provide reconciliation instructions to the tax-writing committees (the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee) and thus does not contemplate any tax changes in the subsequent reconciliation bill.
The resolution now moves to the House for consideration.
