IRS expands Business Tax Account access to tax-exempt organizations
Direct online access to manage federal tax responsibilities
The IRS today announced an expansion of its Business Tax Account platform to include tax-exempt organizations, providing a platform that allows eligible users to manage their federal tax responsibilities online.
This change means that tax-exempt organizations, along with partnerships and various government entities, now have the same digital access that was previously limited to sole proprietors and corporations.
For exempt organizations and their designated representatives, the Business Tax Account now provides direct online access to manage federal tax responsibilities. Key functions of the platform include the ability to:
- View tax balances, make payments, and see payment history
- Download select digital notices
- View eligible transcripts, such as payroll and income
- Request a tax compliance check
- See the business name and address on file with the IRS
