The government on January 5, 2026, registered the Taxation (Multinational—Global and Domestic Minimum Tax) Amendment (2025 Measures No. 1) Rules 2025, finalizing initial technical refinements to Australia’s global and domestic minimum tax regime.

The instrument confirms targeted updates to align with OECD/G20 Pillar Two guidance, including adjustments to equity treatment, qualified flow‑through tax benefits, elections for regulated mutual insurance companies and the treatment of structured finance vehicles.
