EU-Singapore digital trade agreement enters into force
Establishes transparent rules that facilitate cross-border digital transactions.
The European Commission (EC) announced that the EU-Singapore digital trade agreement (DTA) entered into force on February 1, 2026.
According to the EC release (February 2, 2026), the DTA strengthens bilateral trade by establishing transparent rules that facilitate cross-border digital transactions by providing legal certainty for businesses, enhancing consumer trust, and addressing unjustified barriers to digital trade.
The DTA is the EU’s first-ever standalone bilateral digital trade agreement.
