Ethiopia: Proposed tax incentives for exports, startups, green energy projects

Includes dividend and capital gains exemptions

The Ministry of Finance released a draft Council Of Ministers regulation proposing new tax incentives for exporters, startups, and green energy projects.

Key measures include reduced income tax rates for special economic zones (SEZs) and exporters, dividend and capital gains exemptions, and customs duty incentives.

The draft also introduces transparency and claw back provisions, with public consultation invited before final approval.
