U.S. BIS renews temporary denial of export privileges for Russian airline
Effective for one year
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) today released an order renewing the temporary denial of export privileges for a Russian airline to prevent violations of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) due to the airline's continued apparent violations.
Initially, on June 24, 2022, an order was issued denying the airline's export privileges for 180 days to prevent imminent violations of the EAR. This order has been renewed multiple times, with the latest renewal on December 6, 2024. BIS has continued to find evidence of the airline operating aircraft subject to the EAR on flights into and out of Russia without the required authorization.
The BIS's renewal request, submitted on November 5, 2025, was based on ongoing evidence of the airline's disregard for U.S. export controls.
The renewal order is effective immediately and will remain in effect for one year.
