Iceland’s Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs in October 2025 introduced a draft bill proposing amendments to various tax laws.

The bill would:

  • Extend temporary deductions for share purchases
  • Adjust infrastructure tax deadlines
  • Secure BREXIT-related child benefit rights
  • Introduce obligations for virtual asset service providers

Additional changes include tax exemptions for lottery winnings and an increase in the tax-free income threshold for children.
