The Ghana Revenue Authority announced in August 2025 that it will fully implement the Taxation (Use of Fiscal Electronic Device) Act 2018 by early 2026.

This means specified taxable persons must use approved fiscal electronic devices at points of sale for accurate transaction records and enhanced revenue collection.

Enforcement will coincide with other value added tax (VAT) reforms to improve compliance and encourage collaborative taxpayer relationships.
