The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from heads of tax of large businesses that are in the Top 100 and Top 1,000 programs to become members of its Large Business Stewardship Group (LBSG).

According to the ATO, members of the LBSG will occupy a position of trust and will need to commit to upholding the charter of the group and act with integrity through annual declaration.

Membership expectations include:

  • Providing input on issues and processes affecting the large business sector in relation to the administration of the tax and super systems
  • Identifying emerging issues or developments that may be of concern to the large business sector in relation to meeting tax and super obligations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the administration of Australia's tax and super systems

Submissions of EOIs nominations will close October 17, 2025, with membership expected to commence from January 2026.
