U.S. BIS renews temporary denial of export privileges of three Russian airlines
One year renewals based on repeated violations of the Export Administration Regulations
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce today renewed temporary denial orders (TDOs) against three Russian airlines, extending prohibitions on their export privileges for one year. These actions follow findings of repeated, ongoing, and deliberate violations of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including unauthorized operation of U.S.-origin aircraft and parts, and continued disregard for previous denial orders.
Under these renewed TDOs, the affected airlines and any parties acting on their behalf are barred from participating in any transactions involving items subject to the EAR, including exports, reexports, transfers, servicing, financing, or negotiations, except for activities directly related to safety of flight and specifically authorized by BIS. The orders also prohibit any person or entity from facilitating, servicing, or supporting the acquisition, use, or maintenance of U.S.-origin items by these airlines.
