U.S. amendments to HTSUS to adjust tariffs on EU products
Implementation of framework agreement for “reciprocal, fair, and balanced trade” between United States and EU
The International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of the United States Trade Representative today released a notice regarding the implementation of certain tariff-related elements of the framework agreement between the United States and European Union (EU) for “reciprocal, fair, and balanced trade” (read TradeNewsFlash).
The changes amend the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) to adjust tariffs on specific EU products, including automobiles, automobile parts, aircraft, aircraft parts, and generic pharmaceuticals.
- Aircraft and aircraft parts: The changes to reciprocal tariffs and other tariffs imposed on aircraft and aircraft parts will take effect for goods entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after September 1, 2025.
- Automobiles and automobile parts: The modifications to tariffs for automobiles and automobile parts will be effective for goods entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after August 1, 2025.
