European Commission proposes tariff reductions to implement EU-US deal
Parliament and Council will now have to approve the two proposals under the ordinary legislative procedure before the EU's tariff reductions can enter into force.
The European Commission (EC) issued two proposals for the implementation of the European Union (EU) and United States Joint Statement of August 21, 2025. Read TradeNewsFlash.
According to the EC release, the proposals would eliminate tariffs on U.S. industrial goods and provide preferential market access for a range of U.S. seafood and non-sensitive agricultural goods.
