Argentina: Property transfer code requirement eliminated
Effective May 23, 2025
The federal tax authority (ARCA) on May 23, 2025, published General Resolution 5697 (effective immediately) eliminating the requirement for sellers of immovable property to obtain a property transfer offer code (COTI) for transactions over ARS 66,833,000.
The COTI regime, initially established under General Resolution 2371, was repealed due to technological advancements allowing ARCA to access property ownership information through other means.
