Switzerland: Consultation on introducing AEOI agreements with eight additional jurisdictions

Switzerland's Federal Council on August 13, 2025, initiated a consultation regarding the introduction of automatic exchange of financial account information (AEOI) agreements with eight additional jurisdictions: Armenia, Cameroon, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Rwanda, Senegal, and Tunisia.

The agreements are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027, with the first exchange of information planned for 2028, but only if the proposed jurisdictions meet the required AEOI standards.

The consultation will run until November 14, 2025.
