U.S. CBP notice implementing additional 25% tariff on Indian imports

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today released a notice implementing additional duties on products from India following Executive Order 14329 (read TradeNewsFlash) that imposes a 25% ad valorem duty on imports from India, which is indirectly importing Russian oil.
Effective August 27, 2025, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) will be modified to include new headings under subchapter III of chapter 99. Products of India entered for consumption after this date will be subject to the additional duty, except for certain exemptions outlined in the notice.
