U.S. BIS requests comments on Section 232 investigation of imports of wind turbines
Domestic demand and production capacity, role of foreign supply chains, effects of foreign trade practices
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) today released a notice requesting public comments on the national security implications of imports of wind turbines and their parts and components.
The investigation, initiated under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, aims to assess the impact of these imports on national security. BIS is particularly interested in comments regarding domestic demand and production capacity, the role of foreign supply chains, and the effects of foreign trade practices on the U.S. wind turbine industry.
Comments must be submitted within 15 days after the notice's publication in the Federal Register, which is scheduled to be August 25, 2025.
