United States and China agree to continue 10% reciprocal tariff
10% reciprocal tariff will remain in place until November 10, 2025
The U.S. government and the government of China on August 11, 2025, issued a joint statement announcing their agreement to extend their May 12, 2025 agreement to suspend 24 percentage points of the additional tariffs on each other's goods announced in April 2025 for an additional 90 days. As explained in a White House fact sheet, the existing 10% reciprocal tariffs will remain in effect until November 10, 2025.
- The United States will maintain a 10% ad valorem rate on Chinese goods, including those from Hong Kong and Macau.
- China will also retain a 10% rate on U.S. goods and will suspend or remove non-tariff countermeasures against the United States.
President Trump yesterday also signed an executive order extending the suspension of increased tariffs on imports from China until November 10, 2025.
Additionally, U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued implementation guidance (CSMS # 65894387) regarding the executive order.
