Venezuela: Requirements for special economic zones incentives

Regulatory guidelines governing tax refunds and accelerated depreciation within special economic zones

Share
July 17, 2025

The Ministry of Economy and Finance in May 2025 established regulatory guidelines governing tax refunds and accelerated depreciation within special economic zones (SEZs).

Refunds require:

  • Certification
  • Compliance with tax obligations
  • Adherence to specified administrative procedures

Accelerated depreciation applies to new assets meeting specific criteria, using the straight-line method.

These provisions were set forth in Resolution 014-25, effective immediately. The statutory ceilings for these tax incentives were subsequently published in Resolution 015-25.
