Japan will invest $550 billion in the United States and will be subject to 15% tariff rate on imports.
The White House on July 23, 2025, announced an agreement on trade and investment between the United States and Japan.
According to the White House fact sheet, Japan has agreed to invest $550 billion directed by the United States to rebuild and expand core American industries, and the United States has agreed to subject imports from Japan to a baseline 15% tariff rate.
