The Cabinet of Ministers on June 3, 2025, approved draft amendments to the Law on Taxes and Fees to partially implement the EU Directive 2023/2226 (DAC8) and introduced the cryptoasset reporting framework (CARF).

The amendments require taxpayers to report cryptoasset transactions and authorize detailed regulations for reporting conditions, information exchange, and penalties for non-compliance.

If adopted, the amendments will take effect on January 1, 2026, aligning with the OECD’s DAC8 transposition deadline.
