The Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Act, 2025, signed into law, rebrands the Federal Inland Revenue Service as the National Revenue Service (NRS), a centralized body for tax administration in Nigeria.

The law aims to enhance tax compliance, improve revenue generation, and streamline tax administration to minimize inefficiencies. The NRS is tasked with assessing, collecting, and accounting for revenue accruable to the federal government of Nigeria, among other functions.
