White House announces executive order implementing trade deal with UK

Focuses on tariff reductions and supply chain security

The White House on June 16, 2025, posted on its website an executive order implementing the trade deal between the United States and the UK that was announced on May 8, 2025 (read TradeNewsFlash).

The executive order outlines the implementation of the United States and United Kingdom Economic Prosperity Deal, which includes provisions for reduced tariffs on UK automotive imports and the establishment of tariff-free trade in certain aerospace products. It also sets conditions for the reduction of tariffs on steel, aluminum, and pharmaceuticals, contingent upon the UK meeting specific U.S. supply chain security requirements.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration on June 26, 2025, released a notice implementing tariff modifications under the trade deal.
