Increased tariffs effective June 4, 2025
The White House on June 3, 2025, announced that President Trump signed a proclamation to increase tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to 50%.
The increased tariffs—imposed under the authority of Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962—become effective June 4, 2025. The tariffs apply to steel and aluminum contents of imported products, while non-steel and non-aluminum contents will be subject to other tariffs. Read the White House fact sheet
