Belgium: Opening of CRS portal and extended CRS reporting deadline announced
The CRS reporting deadline for the 2024 calendar year has been extended to July 31, 2025.
The Belgian Federal Public Service Finance (FPSF) on June 20, 2025, announced that the MyMinfin common reporting standard (CRS) portal is now open in both simulation and production environments for the submission of CRS reports for the 2024 calendar year.
Financial institutions should currently submit CRS reports for all reportable accounts for the reportable jurisdictions specified in the Royal Decree of July 1, 2024. Once the upcoming Royal Decree establishing the updated list of participating and reportable jurisdictions for calendar year 2024 is published, the FPSF will allow reporting for accounts related to the new jurisdictions. Financial institutions can then supplement their initial submissions to include any accounts from the newly added jurisdictions.
Additionally, due to delays in the publication of the Royal Decree, the CRS reporting deadline for the 2024 calendar year has been extended to July 31, 2025. Notably, this extension applies only to reports submitted for the 2024 calendar year and should not be considered as a precedent.
As a reminder, reporting financial institutions with no reportable accounts must still submit a nil return by selecting the relevant checkbox in the MyMinfin portal.
