The government of Mauritius on June 5, 2025, published the 2025-2026 budget (read TaxNewsFlash), which includes plans to expand the country's electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) mandate to taxpayers with annual revenue of MUR 80 million or more, lowering the threshold from MUR 100 million.

Specific deadlines for compliance have not yet been disclosed, but the authorities have indicated that this new group of taxpayers will be required to comply during fiscal year 2025-2026.

The e-invoicing system of Mauritius has been deployed in several phases since 2023. The last of those phases took effect on May 15, 2024, and mandated taxpayers with revenues of MUR 100 million or more to issue e-invoices.
