The case involves several companies and states challenging executive orders related to tariffs. Initially, the U.S. Court of International Trade had ruled to block these tariffs (read TradeNewsFlash). However, the U.S. government requested a temporary stay that was granted by the Federal Circuit (read TradeNewsFlash).
After reviewing arguments from both sides, the Federal Circuit agreed to the stay, allowing the tariffs to remain in place for now. The court noted the importance of balancing interests as the legal process continues. The case is considered significant enough to be reviewed by the full court, which will expedite the process.
The court has scheduled oral arguments for July 31, 2025.
