Tanzania: Guidance regarding submission of beneficial owner information to registrar of companies

Local companies failing to submit information by April 15, 2025, will not be able to perform any transactions with registrar

The Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELA) on March 10, 2025, issued a public notice that as of April 15, 2025, any local company that has not submitted its beneficial ownership information to the registrar of companies will not be able to perform any transactions with the registrar until it submits the information.

Transactions that will be restricted include the submission of annual returns, changes in company particulars, requests for company status reports (custom searches), registration of charges, perusals, requests for access rights (for those who have lost access rights to the online registration system accounts), and certification of copies of original documents.
