Australia: Senate Committee report on hydrogen, critical minerals production tax incentives bill

The Committee recommends that bill be passed.

The Senate Economics Legislation Committee released its report on the Future Made in Australia (Production Tax Credits and Other Measures) Bill 2024, which would:

  • Establish the hydrogen production tax incentive (HPTI) in the form of a new tax offset
  • Establish the critical minerals production tax incentive (CMPTI) in the form of a new refundable tax offset
  • Partially implement other renewable energy and industry-specific measures in the 2024-2025 budget (read TaxNewsFlash)

The Committee recommends that the bill be passed.
