The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) released guides on claiming the Critical Minerals Production Tax Incentive (CMPTI) and Hydrogen Production Tax Incentive (HPTI) tax offsets.

The CMPTI provides eligible companies with a refundable tax offset of 10% of the eligible costs of processing certain critical minerals in Australia, whereas the HPTI is a refundable tax offset of $2 per kilogram of eligible hydrogen produced by eligible companies.

Both guides detail the eligibility criteria and how and when to claim the respective production tax incentive. In particular, the CMPTI guide include details of the necessary registration requirements.
