Oman: Legislation implementing Pillar Two global minimum tax rules
New legislation introduces domestic minimum top-up tax (DMTT) for multinational groups
The Sultanate of Oman issued Royal Decree No. 70/2024, implementing a 15% domestic minimum top-up tax (DMTT) on constituent entities of multinational groups.
The regulations for implementation of the law, which generally aligns with the OECD’s Pillar Two global anti-base erosion model (GloBE) rules, are anticipated to be released in due course. These regulations will prescribe the detailed rules, conditions, and procedures for implementing the law in a manner consistent with the GloBE rules, as well as the guidance and commentary issued by the OECD.
