The amendment of Government Decree 273/2007 (X. 19.) and Government Decree 19/2009 (I. 30.), which mandates electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) for the supply of electricity and natural gas to nonresidential customers, will be postponed to July 1, 2025.

Originally set to take effect on January 1, 2025, the amendment requires electricity and natural gas traders, transmission system operators, and distributors to issue invoices to nonresidential customers exclusively in electronic form. While the decrees do not specify the content requirements for these invoices, the Hungarian VAT law mandates electronic storage for e-invoicing, which also applies to invoice recipients.
