The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has renewed temporary denial orders (TDOs) against two Russian airlines, restricting their export privileges for one year due to ongoing violations of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- The first airline has been found repeatedly violating U.S. export controls by operating aircraft subject to the EAR on international and domestic flights without the necessary authorization. Despite previous TDOs, evidence shows continued non-compliance, including flights into and out of Russia from/to destinations such as Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan; Bokhtar, Tajikistan; and Khujand, Tajikistan. - The second airline has engaged in unauthorized flights into and out of Russia from/to Bangkok, Thailand; Beijing, China; Khujand, Tajikistan; and Antalya, Turkey. This airline has also disregarded prior TDOs, maintaining operations that contravene U.S. export regulations. Read the BIS notice
Both airlines are prohibited from participating in any transactions involving U.S.-origin items subject to the EAR, except those directly related to flight safety and authorized by BIS.
The renewed TDOs are effective immediately and will remain in place for one year, with potential for further renewal if necessary.
